Every year the Seminar offers courses in the tradition of renowned Danish Ballet Master AUGUST BOURNONVILLE consisting of his famous classes and repertory – this year the
Seminar will offer instruction in the Pas de deux from his ballet ”The Kermesse in Bruges”. Different lectures on Classical Ballet, Bournonville and his ballets and Modern Dance will also be scheduled.
The instruction in Pas de Deux classes will of course take in to consideration the various levels of the prospective male dancers attending this specific class.
The difference in Modern Partnering is that we will not focus on the general gender issue of male with female – everyone can dance together and partner each other regardless of gender.
STAGE DRAMA --------the purpose of the class is to combine ballet technique with expression. Drama consists of conflict, comedy and tragedy. The work includes dramatic scenes alone or with a partner. We will be exploring emotions, atmospheres by creating small episodes through movement.
We will have a special workshop called ” Happy Muscles, Happy Dancers ”
This class is your on-the-go spa treatment for tired, sore bodies and feet, using tennis balls for self massage and relaxation. We will learn different elements of dance anatomy (feet, ankles, knees, hips, back) and how Pilates and Yoga exercises can help you balance your body to get you ready for class. Dancers can reboot their systems by releasing tight muscle groups and re-energizing those that are asleep.
Come prepared to breathe and renew!
