The 2012 seminar

Offers classes in Classical Technique, Point & Variations, Men’s Class & Variations, Bournonville School and Repertory, Pas de Deux Technique & Repertory, Modern Dance and Repertory, Jazz Dance and Repertory

Every year the Seminar offers courses in the tradition of renowned Danish Ballet Master August Bournonville, consisting of his famous classes and repertory, which is outstanding in the classical ballet tradition.

The seminar will also have lectures in ballet history, and of course with focus on Bournonville and his ballets.

The instruction in Pas de Deux classes will of course take in to consideration the various levels of the prospective male dancers attending this specific class.

We will have a special workshop around body conditioning. The class will have a lecture component in which we will explore dance anatomy, common dance injuries and how to prevent them and take a close look at how your body should adapt to the demands of classical ballet technique. The class will end with a restorative Pilates class with a touch of Yoga. You will leave feeling refreshed and fine tuned for the next day!

Alexei Kremnev will select several students (ages 17-20) to receive scholarships for various Joffrey Ballet programs at the end of the Seminar. Recipients may have a chance to dance with the Joffrey Ballet.
