Katarina Wester (KW)

Katarina Wester, a native of Stockholm, Sweden, received her training and graduated from the Royal Swedish Ballet School.  In Sweden, she danced with the Royal Swedish Ballet and the Gothenburg Ballet for many years rising from the corps de ballet to principal dancer before moving to the US in 1989.  In the United States, Katarina worked as a dancer, teacher, choreographer and ballet mistress for over 20 years on both the East and West Coasts.  During this time, she began studies in dance medicine and developed a conditioning program specifically from a dancer’s perspective.  Katarina is certified by A.C.E. (the American Council on Exercise) and is a member of IADMS (International Association for Dance Medicine & Science).

After relocating to The Netherlands in August 2010, she now works as an international freelance teacher and currently teaches the graduating class of the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.
