Jean-Lucien Massot (JLM)
Education Admitted to the National Conservatoire of Avignon in 1982. Apprentice at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin in 1989, member of the Corps de Ballet in 1990, Soloist in 1992 and since 1994 Principal Dancer at the Royal Danish Ballet.
Principal performances at the Royal Danish Ballet Prince Siegfred in Swan Lake, Basil in Don Quixote, Albrecht in Giselle, Prince Desire in The Sleeping Beauty, the title role in Onegin, Gennaro and Golfo in Napoli, the Ballet Master in Le Conservatoire, Senor in La Ventana, Lescalt in Manon, the Prince in The Nutcracker, Le Corsaire, Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Mahler 5th Symphony, The Cage, In The Night, Sailor in Fancy Free, West Side Story, Violin Concerto, Piano Concerto, Serenade, Symphony in C, Suites en Blanc, Etudes, In the Middle Somewhat Elevated, Stepping Stones, Petite Mort, Return to a Strange Land, Sechs Tanze, Les Bras de Mer, Zakouski, Fearful Symmetries, Jazz, Unsung and Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet.

Other engagements Jean-Lucien Massot has performed as a Guest Artist with the Australian Ballet, Royal Swedish Ballet and extensively at gala performances throughout most of Europe, South America, Japan, United States and Canada.
Creations The Sea Witch in John Neumeier’s The Little Mermaid, the Prince in Peter Schaufuss’ Swan Lake, the Pas de 4 in Peter Martin’s Swan Lake, Jorma Elo’s 10 To Hyper M and Lost on Slow, Quasi Una Fantasia, Dream, Symphony and Transformation by Anna Laerkesen, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s L’homme de Bois, Golfo in Nikolaj Hubbe’s Napoli.
Principal awards and honours The Gold Medal at the competition hosted by the French Conservatories in 1988 and 1989, the Fondation de la Danse scholarship in 1988, the Medal of the City of Avignon in 2000, The Albert Goubier Foundation Grant in 2002 and The Bournonville Award in 2005. Recieved the Diplome d’Etat, French National Diploma for Professor of Classical Ballet. Other Experiences: Teaching at the Royal Danish Ballet. Guest teacher at the Finnish National Ballet, Sendai Ballet Academie, Conservatoire National de Danse in Avignon, Bartholin Seminar and Kuopio Dance Festival. Assistant in staging Swan-Lake from Peter Martins at the Royal Danish Ballet and Manon from Sir Kenneth MacMillan at the Finnish National Ballet. Director and Organizer of ” Etoiles et Solistes du Ballet Royal du Danemark ” for 4 festivals throughout the South of France in 2009.
